A Melbourne Award is the city’s highest accolade. For over a decade, these awards have provided the City of Melbourne with a platform to celebrate the inspirational achievements of people and organisations whose passion and commitment have helped make Melbourne one of the most livable cities in the world.
The awards celebrate significant contributions in the areas of sustainability, community, multiculturalism and strengthening Melbourne’s profile.
Peter Collins, Dialogue in the Dark Melbourne's manager, shared with us: “With Dialogue in the Dark operating towards multiple strategic objectives, we are so proud to see the community contribution acknowledged on such a public platform and shortlisted for Melbourne’s most prestigious award after only 18 months of operation. It is a testament to the dedication and tenacity of everyone who has been involved in getting this project to where it is today, particularly the incredible team working on the frontline who open themselves up every day to share their stories and spark a greater social dialogue to inform and improve society’s understanding of the diverse skills and talents of people with blindness and low vision.”
The Gala Awards ceremony will be hosted by channel 7 on November 17th. There, winners across all categories will be announced.
On the same day, the whole DSE team will be crossing fingers with Australian wine bottles ready to cheers for DiD Melbourne to be awarded! Would you like to join?
We acknowledge the big effort and great work of all guides and staff of Dialogue in the Dark Melbourne and Guide Dogs Victoria. Thank you for that and for making us proud! And we will be sending you all best energies for the Melbourne awards!
